Hi, I’m Lance.

My heroes are Newton, Kepler, and Einstein. Reason being, all of them mastered Science to describe the indescribable. They were not in it for the science, but for the unknown.

This is my thought process. All good endeavors take a lifetime. Which translates to, don’t give up when you try something new, because it takes 10,000 hours to master anything. Which means you can master anything if you devote yourself to it for long enough and overcome short term desires/distractions. Which means, since most people give up on most things before 10,000 hours, most people get easily distracted or are not passionate about much. But it is the passionate who change the world (Newton, Kepler, Einstein, many others). And it is via change (viatropos) that the world Evolves. Which means, the passionate help the world evolve. And passion, devotion, and time lead to reconceptualization, or in other words, Creativity. Creativity is equal to long-term, focused, passion. Creativity is not genetic, and it is not a skill, it is a process. Creativity is what Process feels like, Evolution is what Process looks like. Therefore, Creativity gives rise to Evolution. Which is the purpose of all things: Creativity. So, be creative.

I am a Rails developer (resume), a Rubyist. I choose this path because it is as close as I can get to the mechanics of information. I want to use information. I want others to use information. If we can use and organize information, we can find patterns, devote ourselves, and be creative. That’s all it boils down to.
